Bookstore Inventory Data Logger

Help homeschool families find the perfect curriculum - from your own home!

What You'll Do

Join our remote volunteer team and help build IL HRC's online used curriculum bookstore! This flexible, work-from-home position is perfect for someone who enjoys organizing, has an eye for detail, and wants to serve homeschool families across Central Illinois.

You'll be helping us catalog our huge collection of donated used curriculum so families can easily find and purchase exactly what they need. It's like being a digital librarian for the homeschool community!

Your Main Tasks

Simple Photo Editing

  • Crop book photos to look clean and professional

  • Remove backgrounds using easy tools in Canva (we'll show you how!)

  • Make sure book covers are clear and appealing for our online store

Quick Research

  • Do simple searches on ChatGPT to find book details like grade levels, subjects, and descriptions

  • Gather basic information about curriculum publishers and series

  • Help ensure our listings have accurate, helpful information for parents

​

Data Entry

  • Fill in our easy-to-use data sheets with book information

  • Add photos and descriptions to our Wix store inventory

  • Keep our records organized and up-to-date

​

Quality Control

  • Double-check listings for accuracy

  • Make sure photos look good and information is complete

  • Help maintain our professional online presence

What We're Looking For

Basic Skills

  • Comfortable using a computer and internet

  • Able to learn simple photo editing in Canva (free tool - we'll train you!)

  • Good attention to detail and organization

  • Reliable internet connection

Personal Qualities

  • Heart for supporting Christian homeschool families

  • Agreement with our Statement of Faith

  • Willingness to complete a background check (standard for all volunteers)

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently

  • Good communication for checking in with our team

​

Nice to Have (But We Can Teach You!)

  • Experience with Canva or similar photo editing tools

  • Familiarity with homeschool curriculum

  • Previous data entry or online store experience

  • Knowledge of ChatGPT or AI tools
